Qatar 2022 ticket sales

FIFA has started the process for sale of tickets for the 2022 football World Cup in Qatar, the first ever in the Middle East and the Arab World. Fans can submit their requests for tickets until February 8, with special low ticket prices for the residents of Qatar.

The showpiece football event is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of fans from across the globe to Doha.

All applicants will have an equal opportunity to purchase tickets, whether on the first day, the last day or any time in between, as the ticket allocation process begins after the application period ends. If demand for a given match or ticket category exceeds the available ticket inventory for the domestic or international market, random selection draw(s) will take place at the end of the respective sales period to determine which applicants are allocated tickets, FIFA has said.

The World Cup in Qatar is a celebration of the passion of the people of the Arab World and beyond for the game of football. The hosts are ready and looking forward to welcoming the fans from across the globe.

The World Cup will also showcase the rich cultural heritage of Qatar and the Arab Gulf region to the world.

After this initial ticket sales, there will likely be a second opportunity to purchase tickets before the World Cup draw scheduled for April 1 on a first-come-first-served basis. Further, there will be more ticket sales after the date of the tournament draw.

What makes the Qatar World Cup so unique is its compact size, with the longest distance between any two world cup venues being just 75km. This will allow fans to watch more than one game a day. Fans will be able to apply for tickets for more than one match in one day during the ticket sales phase following the lottery.

The State of Qatar and the FIFA have worked to ease the conditions related to purchase of tickets. One fan will be able to purchase up to 60 tickets throughout the tournament, with a maximum of six tickets per match.

Qatar has made extensive preparations to stage the best event in the world cup history, with all the venues and related infrastructure completed a year ahead of the tournament kick-off. Recently-concluded FIFA Arab Cup provided a look into what the world cup would offer to the fans.
