Along raising strong voice at all international platforms for stopping Israeli aggression on Gaza, Qatar is continuously standing with innocent Palestinians and sending all kind of necessary aid for besieged people facing Israeli bombings.
The Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA)-organized fundraising campaign ‘Palestine Duty Relief’ amassed over QR200 million for those affected by the aggression on the Gaza Strip. Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, donated QR100 million to the ‘Palestine Duty’ campaign.
Other donations also came from Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) (QR1.5 million), BARWA Real Estate (QR1 million), and Ooredoo (QR1million) as well as other organizations and individuals.
RACA said the campaign comes within the framework of Qatar’s support for the brotherly Palestinian people and provides relief to the victims of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, especially the injured, orphans, children, widows, pregnant women, and the elderly. The agency said it will use these donations to purchase urgently needed medicines, food, emergency shelter supplies, clothing, water, cleaning and hygiene supplies, as well as children’s and women’s supplies for the people of Gaza.
Yesterday, the state’s National Day, Qatar TV broadcasted the campaign live from the donation sites of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), Souq Waqif, and Darb Al Saai. RACA had called on the generosity of the Qatari people and the esteemed residents to donate to support the brethren in Gaza to provide Palestinian families with a lifeline and strengthen their steadfastness on their land, stressing Gazans’ urgent need for relief.
Last week, a plane belonging to the Qatari Armed Forces headed to the city of Al Arish in the Arab Republic of Egypt, carrying 58 tonnes of foodstuffs, medical aid, and shelter supplies provided by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), and Qatar Charity (QC), in preparation for delivery to Gaza. Qatar has so far sent 43 aircraft carrying a total of 1420 tonnes of aid to Gaza. The aid is part of the State of Qatar’s full support to the brotherly Palestinian people amid the current difficult humanitarian conditions.
Recently, the ‘Stand with Palestine’ initiative, led by students of Qatar Academy Doha (QAD), raised QR20m following a highly successful event at the Education City Stadium. The initiative, aimed at raising funds to support Palestinian people, was attended by more than 27,000 people at the Qatar 2022 venue, which also saw a number of celebrities and students in action during a friendly match between Qatar and Palestine.
