Qatar in last many years has done tremendous work in serving internally displaced Syrians and Syrian refugees in Syria’s neighbouring countries through a number of aid initiatives either they are related to food, shelter or education.
Millions of Syrians who left their homes due to prolonged conflict are living in refugee camps inside country or on foreign lands and are facing tough life conditions particularly in ongoing harsh winter conditions. Qatar, as in many past years, is providing them with support to alleviate their sufferings.
Now, funded by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and in collaboration with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the Syria Education Program will provide critical winterisation support to schools and students in marginalised communities in northwestern Syria.
The project aims to improve the efficiency and safety in schools and increase and maintain student attendance during harsh winter months through preventative and reactive winterisation support. The project targets to reach over 190,000 beneficiaries by mid-2022 to provide access to safe, inclusive and quality learning opportunities to children in northwest Syria and their communities.
This agreement is particularly important because it will offer access to quality education throughout the harsh winter conditions for Syrian children. This commitment aligns with major QFFD goals to ensure access to quality education for all and the wellbeing of communities affected by humanitarian crises.
According to another recent report, Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has contributed to enhance the access to quality education for 13,540 refugees in Gaziantep with the support of strategic partners Qatar Charity and Spark. Gaziantep is a small Turkish city hosting a large number of Syrian refugees.
Supporting access to quality education is a global responsibility and QFFD continues its commitment to support and develop education necessities with all strategic partners.
Qatar through Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) is working hand in hand with it strategic partners Qatar Charity and Spark to bring about positive change to Syrian refugees. QFFD through it projects and programs is contributing to enhancing stability for Syrian refugee, alongside its strategic partners.
QFFD’s support for education is not limited to Syrian refugees rather the fund is supporting many education projects across the world through a number of funding programs in collaboration with local and international partners.
