The sixth annual edition of the ‘Back to School’ campaign has been launched in Mall of Qatar and at KidZania Doha as part of the preparation for the academic year 2019/2020. This year, the campaign, which will continue until August 24, is being held under the theme ‘With Education We Build Qatar’.

Every year, two weeks ahead of the new academic year, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and its partners organise the Back to School campaign at one of the major public gathering venues like any mall.

Organising such educational event at such venues does not mean it is commercially oriented or aimed at marketing and making profits, rather it tries to amuse and prepare children and families physically and mentally for the new school year. This is because every academic year is an annual journey and has its own challenges that require efforts, hard work and perseverance not from the child’s side alone but from all family members.

Back to School festival, therefore, is one of the biggest events for students, families, and community members in Qatar that also targets another aspect that is lifting the heavy financial burden which back to school shopping may create for families. Therefore, companies or organisations are welcomed by the organisers to join the campaign to prepare students joining schools after a long break.

Organisers are keen to make the event enjoyable for all, through entertainment programmes, and also take the advantage of programmes to educate and create awareness on different education-related issues among children, their parents through effective activities.  A fact which has been highlighted by Hassan Abdullah Al Mohammadi, Director of Public Relations and Communication at the Ministry of Education and Higher

Education, about the campaign is “the aim of the campaign is to enhance communication with the public, prepare school students for the new school year more effectively and provide support to schools and educate parents and all those involved in the educational process”.

He added that the campaign includes fun, educational, recreational, and cultural and health activities along with safety and traffic tips.

He noted that the cooperation of partners with the Ministry is the basis of the success of the campaign, where each party will provide a set of valuable services to consolidate the educational and educational values among students and their families and parents and all members of the community and schools as well.

Al Mohammadi told QNA that the campaign is one of the successful initiatives of the Ministry of Education that seeks to enhance the abilities and capabilities of students and develop and encourage the spirit of competition and creativity through a number of guidance and useful educational advice aiming at serving the educational system in the State of Qatar.
