Ooredoo Group is reaching out to people.
In yet another milestone and as part of its network modernisation programme and strategy to enhance customers’ digital experience, Ooredoo Group announced that its operating company in Palestine, Wataniya Mobile, has successfully launched 3G services in West Bank and is already seeing strong demand on the service.
Ooredoo is the world’s first communications company to launch 5G, launching services in Qatar, and aims to roll-out the service nationwide on its award-winning network, Supernet, at an accelerated pace, having acquired 5G spectrum and 5G New Radio (NR) with commercial equipment suitable for business customers.
Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of Ooredoo Group, said early last month that the firm has built strong networks and an appealing range of digital products and services that will serve as the foundation for its next stage of growth and digital transformation. “Our efforts are sustained by a vibrant and successful brand. The Ooredoo brand has rolled-out across all our major markets, and our message about “Enriching Digital Lives” resonates with young people from Tunis through to Jakarta, and of course with the youth of Qatar, Kuwait and Oman,” Sheikh Abdulla said.
Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani, Group Chief Executive Officer, Ooredoo, said: “We are proud to have successfully launched 3G services in the West Bank. Delivering the best possible network – in terms of speed, reliability and accessibility – is fundamental to our vision of enriching people’s lives.” The life-changing move comes shortly after the company launched its operations in the Gaza Strip, providing the residents of Gaza with an alternative option for advanced communications services directly through its shops and authorised dealers in the Strip.
Ooredoo Group had announced at the Mobile World Congress that it is driving new levels of digital experiences, scaling up real-time and one-stop shop solutions to millions of customers across its operating companies. Across the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia, Ooredoo Group operating companies are undergoing digital transformation to become future-ready. There is a strong focus on leveraging digital platforms to support new levels of customer engagement and self-service.
Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani said: “Ooredoo Group is showcasing global best practices in delivering real-time, personalised, and transparent mobile services. Greater choice and convenience are cornerstones for transforming the digital experience for millions of our customers. We are now scaling up these innovations across our group, enabling our customers to enjoy the Internet even more”.
Ooredoo Group had recently rolled out 4G+ across 200 townships in Myanmar, enriching the digital lives of more than 15 million people. It shows that the Group continues to focus on its core mission to make the internet accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
