The speech of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is the reflection of his confidence in his country, its policies, its future and its loyal people’s unlimited capabilities to thwart any threat through focused and sincere hard-work in the right direction.
The historic speech is being lauded by everyone believing in truth, justice, peace and progress. Every word said by the Emir reflects the true aspirations of Qatari people who are standing steadfast from the day one to defeat the nefarious designs attached with the imposition of unjust blockade against Qatar.
The speech is perfect blend of courage, vision, determination and prudence. It also reflects high moral values of Qatar’s leadership and Qatari nation. Despite facing siege for months, the Emir expressed his shock over violations of established values by the blockading countries.
“Qatar has come under an unjust blockade, during which all established values and norms — not only those prevalent among fraternal and friendly countries, but even among enemies — were breached.”
The Emir has rightfully pointed out the true intentions of siege countries saying that it was evident from the nature of the steps that were taken, as well as the accompanying behaviour and rhetoric, that their goal was not to reach a solution or settlement. The speech of the Emir has boosted morale of Qatari nationals and expatriates when he expressed his resolve that Qatari society knows how to lead a normal life, flourish and develop, whether the blockade is prolonged or
not.
“We do not fear the boycott of these countries against us, we are a thousand times better off without them” is the sentence whose wavelength matches with hearts of all people standing by Qatar. H H the Emir has erased all rumours being spread about Qatar’s economic stability and its robust nature referring undeniable facts about per capita income, GDP growth in industrial sector and self-sufficiency achieved through Hamad Port. “They have erred in their evaluation of the will of the Qatari people and the State, as well as in their estimates of our economy.”
For fortifying Qatar’s national economy, the Emir gave an ambitious strategy including reducing bureaucracy, reforming banking system, ensuring food security, expanding existing trade relations with other countries, developing sea ports, accelerating implementation of tourism strategy etc. The speech also carries a historic announcement of government’s preparations for the Advisory Council elections, including drafting legislative measures necessary to ensure that these elections are conducted perfectly well. In times when Qatar is facing siege, the Emir’s remembrance of oppressed people of different conflict zones of the world from Syria to Rohingya again proves Qatari leadership’s commitment to international justice and peace.
