The recent Israeli attacks on Iranian territory come at a time when the international community is intensifying efforts to pursue diplomatic solutions aimed at restoring peace and stability in the Middle East.
These actions have been widely condemned as a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and a serious breach of international law.
The State of Qatar expresses deep concern over this dangerous escalation, which it views as part of a broader pattern of aggressive Israeli behavior that continues to threaten regional security and obstruct global initiatives for de-escalation and peaceful conflict resolution. Qatar strongly condemns the ongoing Israeli attacks targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran. The targeting of Iranian facilities—particularly those linked to nuclear infrastructure—not only undermines Iran’s sovereignty as a member state of the United Nations, but also violates key international agreements.
These include the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material (CPPNM) and the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement (CSA), to which Iran remains a committed party. Such actions risk setting a dangerous precedent, eroding international norms, and endangering collective global security.
Qatar calls on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities by taking urgent and decisive action to stop these Israeli violations before they lead to wider conflict. Continued aggression will only jeopardize regional peace, endanger civilian lives, and further destabilize an already volatile region. Therefore, Qatar urges global actors and international institutions to exert meaningful pressure on Israel—the occupying power—to cease its military campaign in Gaza, end its use of starvation as a weapon of war, and halt its illegal settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank. The ongoing violence against unarmed civilians must not be tolerated.
Qatar also emphasizes the urgent need for the international community to fulfill its obligations under United Nations Security Council and General Assembly resolutions, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) directives, and the 1995 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference resolution. These frameworks call for Israel to place its entire nuclear program under comprehensive IAEA safeguards and to accede to the NPT as a non-nuclear-weapon state.
At this critical moment, Qatar reiterates its firm rejection of violence in all its forms and calls for immediate restraint to prevent further escalation. Escalating the conflict will only deepen regional instability and undermine prospects for peace.
