Colourful Eid ahead

The country is getting ready to hold a truly incredible array of celebrations for everyone to mark the festival of breaking the fast with the approaching Eid holidays.

A special campaign called ‘Feel Eid in Qatar’ was introduced by Qatar Tourism in the middle of this week. It has an amazing calendar of fun events for the whole family that celebrate the joyous festival of Eid from April 21 to 23.

Residents and tourists alike are likely to find something to suit their preferences among the action-packed weekend of events, which range from outstanding music performances with the region’s most renowned musicians to fun-filled children’s shows.

Additionally, the diverse and top-notch selection of hotels in Qatar will provide locals and guests with a wealth of alternatives for an Eid staycation or vacation. Leading entertainment locations will also participate in the numerous Eid celebrations, such Lusail Winter Wonderland, which will reopen for the holiday to welcome families. The amusement park will return from April 21 to 28 and will be open from 4pm to 11pm from Sunday to Wednesday, and 4pm to 1am from Thursday to Saturday.

Top Arab singers will also perform during the occasion including iconic artists Marwan Khoury and Najwa Karam, Tamer Hosny, Qatar’s very own Fahad Al Kubaisi, and recent winner of Saudi Idol - Hams and Emirati singer Balqees.

Among the other events on the line-up include: the Doha Corniche will host a stunning Fireworks Show every night at 9pm throughout the weekend. A three-day run of the popular children’s program “Shaun the Sheep” will also be held in the Lusail Multipurpose Hall in Doha. And a Sports Festival and live stage performances by well-known singers will also take place at the same time in Asia Town.

Moreover, several events are taking place before the Eid celebrations even begin, such as the 15-day Mega Park Carnival, which will make its debut in the country in Al Bidda Park from Sunday, April 16, to Sunday, April 30. Throughout Ramadan, there will be nonstop entertainment and exciting activities that start at 6pm and end at 4am.

Popular tourist destinations including Katara Cultural Village, The Pearl Island, Souq Waqif, Old Doha Port, and numerous malls have likewise planned Eid festivities from April 21 to 23.

All around Doha, Eid celebrations will be taking place. The much-loved kids’ show, “Shaun the Sheep” is heading to Doha for three days at the Lusail Multipurpose Hall. At the same time, Asia Town will come to life with a Sports Festival and live stage shows by popular artists.
