The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, is always in the forefront of the development of the country. Recent meetings and seminars to raise awareness of the Authority’s continuous development in the methods adopted to manage and implement its projects show that how the Authority is steadfastly moving on the right path for the major development projects that are being implemented to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030 and for the projects related to the Middle East’s first football festival — 2022 FiIFA World Cup.
Ashghal said that the total value of projects to be implemented during the current year will be about QR21.8bn and will include infrastructure projects, roads and green spaces, land plots and housing units and the development of intersections.

It should be appreciated that the efforts of the Authority to organise several meeting with small-scale contracting companies to provide the opportunity for local investors.
It’s also worth mentioning that the Authority has put focus on supporting material supply initiatives during the siege for timely delivery of the projects. Various officials at the Authority said that the procurement and contracting strategies have been reshaped and developed considering many aspects including better planning of the construction activities to minimise disruption to residents and consistent implementation of site standards as well as the best practices for the right of way.
The Authority provided infrastructure services for 13,279 residential plots for citizens during the past year compared to 5,529 during the previous four years, a three-fold increase. It’s also to be mentioned with a great pride for anyone who is living in Qatar that Ashghal has said that about 90 percent of projects related to the 2022 World Cup would be completed in 2018. The Ashghal has completed many of these projects on time with the development of a Key Performance Indicator system.
