Qatar is moving towards hosting the most entertaining FIFA World Cup editions ever. While Qatar 2022 has many elements that will make history like its compact nature and being the first football showpiece to be staged in the Middle East and the Arab World, the country’s plans of entertainment extravaganza during the event will make the November 20-December 18 tournament a special one.

Fans will not just relish the high-profile 64 matches to be played at eight state-of-the-art stadiums among world’s best teams, a vast array of cultural and entertainment options for the whole family during this tournament will certainly wow them. It will be a country-wide festival with more than 90 special events set to take place on the sidelines of the World Cup. The options for fans will include match viewing areas, music festivals, cultural displays and street performances.

The iconic Doha Corniche will be the centre of entertainment during the mega event with a carnival atmosphere along its 6km route, stretching from the Sheraton Hotel to the Museum of Islamic Art Park. It will feature roving performances, cultural activities, food and beverage stalls, and retail outlets. More than 120,000 people will be able to visit the Corniche at peak time.
There will also be plenty of entertainment for fans attending the matches in the vicinity of all the eight stadiums. Visual arts, crafts and heritage, fashion and design, performance art, music and film screenings will be the highlights as the Last-Mile Cultural Activation will feature more than 6,000 performances in 21 locations. 

Al Bidda Park will host the FIFA Fan Festival during which fans will be able to see every match live besides enjoying stage performances, food and beverage outlets, cultural activities and sponsor activations. In addition, fan zones will be hosted in the Industrial Area and Al Khor.    

Al Maha Island Lusail, 974 Beach Club and Lusail Boulevard will also offer entertainment opportunities for fans. Also, a variety of cultural and entertainment activities will be available for fans across key tourist destinations in the country, including museums, Souq Waqif, Katara Cultural Village and Msheireb Downtown Doha.

With less than 100 days remaining to the big kick off, Qatar is ready to host the World Cup and is set to give fans from all over the world an incredible experience by staging multiple entertainment events on the sidelines of the tournament.
