With just 50 days to go until the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2025, preparations are well underway at Lusail International Circuit (LIC). The LIC marked the countdown yesterday, sharing updates on what fans can expect from the event, scheduled to take place from November 28 to 30. It will be LIC’s fourth time hosting Formula 1 and each year the experience keeps growing on the track and beyond.
This year’s weekend includes the Formula 1 race, Sprint Race, FIA Formula 2 Championship and Porsche Carrera Middle East Cup. It’s three days of non-stop racing action for fans of all ages, offering a unique experience with top racers set to compete at the iconic track.
But LIC isn’t only focused on racing as the entire event is being built as a fan-friendly experience. Concerts by big names like Seal and Metallica will headline the entertainment while the Fan Zone will offer food, games, cultural displays, and interactive exhibitions. One highlight is the Qatar Cultural Area where visitors can enjoy local traditions like Arabic coffee, live Ardha performances and craft showcases.
Families and younger fans won’t be left out. LEGO will also join the fun with its “Build The Thrill” experience, allowing visitors to build their own LEGO Formula 1 car. There will also be areas for fans to simulate pit stops, take photos with virtual drivers and even step onto a DJ podium. LIC is also putting sustainability and inclusion at the core of the event with initiatives including more recycling stations, electric vehicles and a food redistribution programme. A new Sensory Room will be available for guests with sensory sensitivities, and students across Qatar are being engaged through educational tours and internship opportunities. As part of the countdown, citywide activations will take place throughout November, including installations of giant F1 helmets and VR racing challenges at malls and landmarks.
The LIC and Qatar have grown into a major hub for global motorsports hosting top-notch events. Since hosting its first F1 race in 2021, Lusail has continued to build on its long-standing motorsport legacy. The circuit has been a key venue for MotoGP since 2004 and now also hosts the FIA World Endurance Championship, regional competitions and more. It’s one of the few circuits in the world that regularly hosts Formula 1, MotoGP, and endurance racing at such a high level. With good planning, strong fan support and smooth organisation, LIC is helping make Qatar a top spot for motorsport around the world.
