Showcasing the success stories

The organisation of exhibition on agriculture and environment by the State of Qatar is a reflection of country’s commitment and successes towards achieving food self sufficiency and protecting the environment through a number of initiatives and programs.

The AgriteQ and EnviroteQ exhibitions also support State’s efforts towards its goals set in spheres of agriculture and environment through exchange of knowledge and experiences with friendly countries and their companies which are participating in the exhibition.

Qatar, in recent years, has achieved many successes in food security as the country increased its agricultural production, both vegetables and livestock, while maintaining standards of sustainability. Qatar has achieved self sufficiency in many food commodities like dairy. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, inaugurated on Thursday the 9th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) and the 3rd International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ), organized by the Ministry of Municipality, and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

Minister of Municipality H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie has affirmed that the State of Qatar, under the directives of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, pays great attention to the development of economic sectors in the country in general and the agricultural sector in particular, since it is one of the vital sectors of realising food security.

Minister of Environment and Climate Change Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani said that the wide international participation in the two exhibitions locally, internationally, and from the GCC countries points to the tangible and great results and successes achieved by the previous sessions of the agricultural and environmental exhibition, in terms of quality exhibits and modern technologies in the agriculture and the environment fields. The agricultural exhibition is not limited to displaying agricultural products but also includes a review of partnership and cooperation mechanisms.

The AgriteQ and the EnviroteQ are witnessing the participation of more than 650 local and international companies from the sectors of agriculture, environment, food and animal production, and nearly 50 countries through their embassies and commercial offices in Doha.  Qatar is using renewable energies to apply best practices for the development of the agricultural sector and also making better use of natural resources to preserve the environment.

The State of Qatar also working with friendly countries to achieve cooperation in the agricultural field through exchanging experiences between the private and public sectors and ensuring the flow of goods.
