Preserving cultural traditions

Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition (S’hail 2021) like many other events organized in Qatar every year is a great platform to preserve and promote culture of falconry apart from its tremendous value in generating an economic activity in the country.

The current edition, opened on September 7, is a huge success like the previous editions since its launch in 2017. S’hail is strongly dedicated to preserve and promote the art of hunting and falconry. The aim of the exhibition is to preserve and create awareness about Qatar’s rich cultural legacy.

S’hail is an exceptional platform in the entire region in terms of its magnitude, diversity and excellence. The objective of S’hail is to meet the essentials and desires of hunting and falconry all across the globe. 

The 5th edition of Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition (S’hail 2021), has witnessed a huge turnout and a wide participation of companies specialising in hunting weapons, hunting supplies, falcons and trips.

Some of the new eye-catching features at S’hail 2021 include latest weapons and gadgetry, and display of life-size wild animal artworks and world-class falcon sculpting and wood carving craft.

This edition is also characterised by the electronic falcon auction, available through a special mobile application, and can be followed online from anywhere in the world. Visitors can view pictures and data of all types of participating falcons and see all the details of the auction.

On Thursday, Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also paid a visit to S’hail 2021. During the visit, H H the Amir viewed the exhibited falcons, various types of weapons, and supplies for hunting, sniping, trips and camping.

So far a number of Their Excellencies Ministers, Ambassadors and other dignitaries as well as hunting enthusiasts have visited the exhibition praising the meticulous organization of the event.

General Manager of Katara, Prof Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, said: “S’hail is growing in importance year after year and the fifth edition confirms its leadership as being the largest and most important international exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa in the field of hunting and falconry.”

The organisation of the exhibition during COVID-19 pandemic itself is a great achievement for organisers who have made sure that all precautionary measures are strictly followed by the exhibitors and visitors. No doubt that the exhibition offers enthusiast a marvellous opportunity to know about latest innovations in hunting and falconry.
