The innocent people in Gaza on the one hand are being killed barbarically by bombs and bullets of Israeli occupation forces and on the other hand dying due to artificial famine and hunger imposed by Israel’s blockade of Gaza strip.
Now in a new act of cruel crime, Israeli occupation forces have seized an aid vessel - Madleen - that tried to break a naval blockade of the Gaza Strip. The pro-Palestinian Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) was operating the UK-flagged yacht Madleen which was was carrying well known activists and food supplies.
The Israeli navy towed the Madleen aid vessel into the port of Ashdod as night fell yesterday. Afterwards, the activists were expected to be held at a detention facility in the Israeli city of Ramle before being deported, according to Adalah, a legal rights group representing the activists. Rima Hassan, a French member of the European Parliament who is of Palestinian descent, is among the volunteers on board.
Former UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has condemned Israel’s seizure of the Madleen aid ship in international waters.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation for the efforts of the international activists aboard the ship attempting to break the blockade on Gaza. The ministry praised their willingness to endure great hardships and high risks at sea for this noble humanitarian goal - standing in solidarity with Gaza, which is facing horrific forms of genocide, ethnic cleansing, oppression, and starvation.
Hamas has called for an independent international investigation into “systematic Israeli crimes” in Gaza, saying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders must be prosecuted. Hamas demanded an end to “suspicious military-run aid distribution centres” and called for the UN to be the sole “legitimate and neutral channels” for delivering humanitarian relief.
The Israeli aggression against Gazans is continued with impunity with more killings of women and kids in Gaza. According to new reports, the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 54,927 martyrs, in addition to 126,615 wounded.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza has called on the international community to urgently take action to pressure the Israeli occupation into allowing the entry of fuel, spare parts, and generator oils into the Gaza Strip’s hospitals. The ministry said that Al-Shifa Medical Complex and Al-Ahli Arab Hospital are at risk of being out of service within 24 hours.
