The ongoing aggression against Gaza has now extended into its sixty-second day, resulting in a devastating death toll exceeding 17,000, with the majority being innocent civilians, including numerous children, women, and the elderly.
The actions undertaken by Israel and its allies have, unfortunately, led to the loss of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinian lives with Israel insisting to continue to achieve its hidden agenda of uprooting the Palestinians from their home land.
Remarkably, amidst this tragedy, the children of Gaza persist in reclaiming their lives, defying the fear and terror imposed upon them by the enemy. Their resilience is driven by a collective pursuit of life, as they strive to regain stolen rights and a homeland usurped under the dominance of Zionism. The history of over 75 years, marked by the current events in the Gaza Strip, suggests that Zionism cannot coexist harmoniously in the region, as it appears to be digging its own grave.
This extremism not only disregards the people, their values, and beliefs but also desecrates Islamic and Christian sanctities in East Jerusalem. The Israeli police and occupation forces have permitted far-right activists to march through Jerusalem’s Muslim Quarter to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound, advocating for Jewish control of the site.
Qatar strongly condemns this provocative act, considering it a flagrant violation of Palestinian rights and the historical custodianship of the Hashemite over the holy sites in occupied Jerusalem. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns against Israeli attempts to alter the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its sacred sites.
If the underlying motives of war are rooted in hatred, spite, and religious or ethnic fanaticism, it becomes a war without a clear objective. Such conflicts target civilians, leading to the destruction of entire cities and neighbourhoods, with the deliberate intent of causing widespread harm to children and women. The ongoing Gaza war stands out as one of the most reprehensible conflicts in the region, and the global response remains largely silent, with exception of a few countries and UN officials.
In response to this dire situation, UN Secretary-General Guterres has invoked Article 99 of the United Nations Charter. This decision aims to compel the UN Security Council to address the situation in Gaza and make a decisive move to halt the war. It is a glimmer of hope that the world may comprehend the humanitarian catastrophe and extensive devastation occurring in Gaza, urging collective action to bring an end to the suffering.
