The international horticulture Expo 2023 Doha has emerged as a new destination in the country and is attracting a large number of visitors including citizens, expatriates and tourists – individuals, families and students.
Over the course of 179 days, Expo 2023 Doha will continue presenting a variety of exciting events and activities, including conferences and cultural, educational, entertainment exhibitions in addition to introducing innovative new products to global markets and sports events.
GCC countries’ pavilions in Expo 2023 Doha are featuring aspirations for a healthier and greener planet including the best horticulture and environmental sustainability practices and innovations and efforts to boost vegetation diversity and reign in climate change impacts.
Saudi pavilion is showcasing an array of the Kingdom’s key initiatives and projects to achieve water security and increase greenery, enhance the utilisation of treated water and renewables, as well as its initiative to plant 40 billion trees across the Middle East and other ecological awareness campaigns in line with the Saudi Vision 2030. Among the Saudi sustainability projects showcased are the desalinated water project and cloud seeding program, which aims to surge the precipitation from five to 20 percent, create new water sources, battle desertification and carbon emissions and contribute to Saudi& Middle East Green Initiatives.
The UAE pavilion is there themed ‘Legacy and Impact’. With rammed earth walls and a palm frond roof, the UAE pavilion showcases the latest environmental innovations and qualitative contributions that focus on efforts to enhance a prosperous agricultural legacy. It is also displaying a variety of adaptable flora and several lectures that introduce the UAE’s agricultural heritage and the activists who have contributed to building a more sustainable future.
The Omani’s pavilion, surrounded by a green fence with dense plant cover, displayed 1,600 plants that were transported from Muscat to Doha, to highlight vegetation diversity and the country’s efforts to battle climate change.
The Turkish pavilion is attracting a large number of visitors to explore the latest Turkish innovations in the field of agriculture and horticulture. The pavilion showcases biodiversity, rich plant growth, and the natural and geographical characteristics of Turkiye as well as displays the country’s historical riches and culture in a harmonious manner.
The Turkish pavilion, which is being held under the theme ‘Motherland of Gardening’, aims to highlight Turkiye’s will to play a prominent role for ‘a greener, more livable and sustainable world’. Visitors to the Turkish pavilion can also learn about the cultural values and agricultural activities of the fertile regions, which are progressing at an innovative pace from the past to the future.
