In light of the Corona crisis and the conditions of confinement that it imposed on all aspects of daily life, especially the travel and tourism sector which suffered from the strict restriction on travelling, expectations of many experts indicated that recovery of the tourism sector would take more than two years. However, the travel movement we are witnessing at the global level has exceeded all expectations, and the tourism sector and people's movement are almost better than the situation before the crisis if Coronavirus. The tourism sector in the State of Qatar could be presented as a good example of that.
Qatar Tourism revealed that Qatar received more than two million visitors during the first half of 2023, which indicates the remarkable performance of the tourism sector. The authority stated that the international arrivals in 2023 have doubled compared to the levels seen pre-pandemic. The sharp uptake in the number of visitors can be attributed to the initiatives that Qatar Tourism introduced making the summer tourism activities calendar rich in events, festivals, and unique tourist experiences.
Qatar enjoys tourist attractions that offer a variety of choices for visitors with a range of interests from museums and galleries, markets, sports, and desert safaris along with the authentic Arab hospitality that Qatar is famous for.
Wednesday, Qatar Tourism unveiled the latest edition of its tourism guide, Qatar Calendar, showcasing a fun-filled lineup of events, offers, and activities taking place over the summer months in Qatar.
Underling the diverse range of exciting events and activities that Qatar offers for tourists Qatar Tourism Acting Head of Tourism Events & Festivals Organizing Section, Noor Abdulla Al Thani said: “Qatar has it all, whether you are seeking adventure, cultural experiences, or family fun, residents and visitors will find something that perfectly suits their preferences during the summer months. Qatar Toy Festival which will be showcased at DECC until Aug 5 is a national first and the largest event of its kind in the region, bringing to life 25 of the world’s most beloved toy brands which is an immersive experience for children.
The calendar is made up to meet different passions, interests and different ages including Aspire Summer Camp 2023 for sports enthusiasts, which promises an adventure-filled experience, while PSG Academy Summer Programs allows football fans to hone their skills and many other activities and a series of workshops for the children.
