Qatar University, a beacon of academic excellence and scientific research, has added yet another feather to its cap. This was evident when Qatar University made new progress and improved in all subject areas according to Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2021. The ranking assesses universities by their performance in 11 subjects and this year Clinical Pre-Clinical and Health subject was added to the list ranking.
QU President Dr. Hassan Al Derham hailed the accomplishment and said: “This is a prestigious moment for QU. This year’s ranking encourages us to strive more for in the direction of excellence. Our main objective is to prepare national leaders and develop the national human capital towards building a knowledge-based economy. We look forward to consistently increasing our recognition in more subjects in coming years among the top universities in the region and worldwide.”
Last week, Qatar University placed third in the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2021. The annual QS Arab Region University Rankings highlights 130 leading universities in this part of the world. The achievement consolidated QU’s recent achievement in the QS World University Ranking as the institution moved from 276 in 2020 to 245 in the 2021 ranking, effectively jumping 31 places, and becoming one of the most improved universities.
In September, QU also jumped 90 places and entered the club of the best 350 International Universities according to Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2021. The results showed that QU has jumped up to the 301-350 band.
