Qatar Airways has been flying the Qatar flag high with stupendous growth and accolades over the years. It just added more feathers to its crown yesterday by winning two prestigious awards at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2023. Qatar Airways was named the ‘Airline with the Best Business Class’ and ‘Best Regional Airline Serving the Middle East’ at the awards ceremony held during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023 in Dubai.

The airline has been growing at a breakneck speed after the lull caused by the COVID-19 pandemic a couple of years back. They have got their extensive network back on air in quick time flying to more than 160 destinations worldwide.

The national airline of Qatar had outperformed all the major airlines in recent years by carrying the maximum number of people home during the crippling pandemic when most international airlines had grounded their fleets. It was also at the forefront of shifting emergency medical aid and other materials across the world. Many governments and institutions praised the airline for its commitment and service during a tough phase when the world was left stunned and frozen by the pandemic.

Qatar Airways was one of the first to get back on air in full force operating on many routes and kept adding more routes in short intervals making Hamad International Airport one of the busiest airport hubs in the world. They are planning to increase the flights further, especially in the Gulf sector. The airline is currently flying 84 flights a week to UAE with plans to expand it further. This puts in perspective the importance Qatar Airways gives to the region.

The Arab Tourism Organization recently named Doha as the Arab Tourism Capital 2023. Qatar has been investing in and promoting tourism by organising many cultural and entertainment events throughout the year attracting many international tourists and the national airline plays a key role in developing the country as a preferred tourist destination.

Accolades for the airline are nothing new as it has won the ‘Airline of the Year’ award by Skytrax an unprecedented seven times with the latest at the 2022 World Airline Awards function. The business class of Qatar Airways has also been awarded many times for its innovation and service. The revolutionary Qsuite changed the way people fly. Added to the exquisite lounge at HIA, many business travellers shifted to the airline ditching even direct flights for the opulent experience. With one of the youngest fleets, the airline will only soar higher and win more accolades in the future.
