A beacon of stability

Qatar has steadily emerged as a model of stability in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, distinguishing itself through effective governance, strategic diplomacy, and a commitment to peaceful development. Qatar’s consistent leadership in the Global Peace Index (GPI) underlines its success in creating a secure and balanced society.

Ranked as the most peaceful country in the MENA region for the seventh time in the 2025 edition of the GPI, Qatar's position reflects more than just favourable statistics. It symbolises the country’s deep-rooted dedication to national security, low crime rates, and proactive diplomatic engagement. Notably, Qatar remains the only country in the region to consistently rank within the top 30 globally, placing 27th out of 163 nations in 2025. This achievement is particularly notable given the region’s broader struggles with conflict and instability, and it places Qatar well ahead of its regional peers in terms of peace and security.

Despite being surrounded by geopolitical tensions, Qatar continues to chart a path rooted in cooperation, moderation, and long-term vision. Its ability to remain resilient amid external pressures highlights the effectiveness of its strategic planning and institutional strength.

Qatar’s stability is not a product of isolation but of integration, within both regional frameworks and the global order. Its governance model is aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, which prioritises sustainable development, public safety, and societal well-being. Security institutions function in a coordinated and transparent manner, while the country’s foreign policy remains principled and consistent.

Central to Qatar’s peaceful standing is its ability to balance relationships across diverse political blocs. With constructive ties to global powers and regional neighbours alike, Qatar has earned trust as a neutral mediator. Its diplomatic approach emphasises dialogue over confrontation, enabling the country to play critical roles in defusing tensions across the region. This soft-power strategy has elevated Qatar’s international profile. In today’s world, where the global peace landscape is deteriorating, Qatar’s consistent position among the top thirty peaceful countries globally is both rare and commendable. It highlights not only resilience but also foresight, a clear indication that diplomacy, governance, and development can coexist to create a stable society.

Qatar’s success lies in its ability to project calm amid chaos, act with wisdom amid provocation, and promote dialogue in times of division. In a region searching for balance, Qatar stands out as a steadfast guardian of peace and stability.
