Moving closer to hosting the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Draw Ceremony was held yesterday. The beauty and perfection of the glittering ceremony itself speaks volumes about Qatar’s superb preparations to hosting the mega sporting event at the end of this year.
Also yesterday the first official soundtrack for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, with the song ‘Hayya Hayya: Better Together’ was released featuring American pop singer Cardona, Africobeat Icon Davido, and Qatari artist Aisha, before the final draw of the tournament.
Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani attended the Draw Ceremony. On this occasion, H H the Amir said that this tournament will be the first major event that unites the world in the aftermath of the pandemic that has taken its toll on the world for more than two years.
“I feel proud and happy from now until the moment the world will see that we in Qatar will present an exceptional World Cup in the Arab world, as we had promised. Meanwhile, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) has also revealed FIFA World Cup 2022 mascot ‘La’eeb’ on the sidelines of the competition’s draw. Laeeb is an indescribable being from a parallel universe that can be interpreted differently by everyone. Laeeb encourages everyone to believe in themselves as ‘Now is All’.
President of the International Football Association (FIFA) Gianni Infantino confirmed that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be held under the name of peace. Infantino, in his speech during the tournament draw ceremony, noted that the 2022 tournament will be the most beautiful and best version, and a football festival that will witness the attendance of more than 3 million people in Qatar and more than 5 billion viewers around the world.
President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Patrice Motsepe said that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be a special edition, one of the best in the competition’s history.
