Education is an essential tool for everyone to enhance knowledge and achieve success in life. Individuals with talent and education excellence are the real wealth of any country. In line with this belief, Qatar celebrated the 14th Education Excellence Day Award ceremony and honoured 71 winners in different categories. The distinguished students and individuals who are honoured annually, represent an added value to the national Qatari competencies in different fields, which makes Qatar an incubator for educational excellence.
Honouring the winners of the Education Excellence Award, Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani praised the students’ education performance and their distinguished efforts despite the pandemic circumstances and noted the importance of continuing the journey of excellence and acquiring scientific knowledge. The Award is the highest academic honour to individuals and educational institutions in the State.
The ceremony also witnessed the launch of the Education Excellence Ambassadors Program, who were selected from the previous winners in order to contribute to educating and motivating students, deepening the concepts of excellence in the Qatari community, and promoting positive trends towards innovation, creativity, and scientific research among youth. The award encourages students to exert more efforts for academic excellence and outstanding academic achievement.
The increasing interest in the Education Excellence Award and the broad and growing participation witnessed in every edition, proves Qatar’s focus on youth as a main pillar in developing the society, and in achieving its national vision.
Developing the capability of students remain the paramount goal of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and that the ultimate goal is a successful student capable of his, her skills. The Ministry made tremendous efforts to confront the spread of the pandemic and reduce its negative effects in the field of education. The Ministry implemented a distance education system, a transition which was smooth and easy.

Latest technologies, educational and research programs are being added in the curricula helping students to discover their creative potential and enhance scientific research skills in various disciplines. Qatar has become an academic hub due to its international reputation, social stability, richness and cultural diversity. The State attaches great importance to the educational system by preparing students to contribute effectively to knowledge-based economy. Qatar is taking care of its talented youth and knows that they are valuable treasures and that their capabilities must be developed.
