The Government of Qatar takes a holistic approach to developing and sustaining an adequate social safety net for all Qataris. Social protection and family cohesion are essential components of an integrated and sound social development approach aimed at achieving the well-being of Qatar and its citizens and building a safe, secure, and resilient society against all social challenges and threats.
Families are the building blocks of society. Through the Ministry of Social Development and Family, Qatar aims to ensure families are encouraged and provided the necessary support to navigate challenges. Yesterday, the Ministry organised the “Community Partnership Forum” to discuss the challenges and the latest social and family development.
According to authorities, the Forum is part of a series of activities supporting the construction and design of the Social and Family Development Strategy 2023-2030, intending to involve the relevant authorities to determine their priorities during the coming period within its mandate. It is also noteworthy to mention that the Forum is a means to achieving the objectives of the social and development pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV), which encompasses a system dedicated to social welfare and protection for all citizens and to bolstering women’s role in society and empowering them to be active community members.
Addressing the importance of the programme, Assistant Undersecretary for Social Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Ghanem bin Mubarak Al Kuwari stated that the Forum is one of the stages of the strategic plan of the Ministry and it constitutes an important part of the 2023-2030 plan.
He added that the Ministry, through this Forum, seeks to confront the fundamental challenges and find solutions that are reflected in strategic plans based on results linked to important initiatives. He stressed the significance of multiple groups in society participating in the Forum.
Authorities also confirmed that the Forum is an opportunity for all specialists in social development to present their vision and ideas for the Ministry to support and study the possibility of developing it. The ideas can be formulated into an initiative and converted into successful projects that achieve benefit and benefit to the community.
Qatar pays significant attention to family values backed by strategies to promote them in households and public institutions. To this end, the Community Partnership Forum only serves to ensure these values are respected and improved to meet any challenges.
