Over the past decades, no day has passed without news of the steadfast Palestinian people subjected to attacks, arrests, daily raids and incursions into their villages and towns by the Israeli occupation forces or the extremist settlers. Hence, words like killing, demolishing, arresting, and bombing have become common vocabulary in the area. The settlers also storm mosques and homes and torture prisoners; however, the irony in all these atrocities is the news passes as any diplomatic courtesy news despite the painful violence.
The world is full of news of wars and tragedies, but all wars have their causes, except the war against the Palestinians, which is waged because they are Palestinians and because they are present on the land of their ancestors and their homes. When the motives of war are based on race and the ultimate goal of the repeated attacks becomes either killing or forced displacement of the Palestinians, the entire world is involved in the crime of silence and inaction to defend innocent and defenceless people.
Yesterday, the Israeli occupation forces arrested 17 Palestinians from different areas in the West Bank, including two freed prisoners.
The occupation authorities also placed demolition notices on nine homes in the Al-Bustan neighbourhood, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Palestinian news agency (WAFA) said that a group of municipal authority employees accompanied by the occupation forces stormed the neighbourhood and hung demolition notices on nine houses. At the same time, other homeowners were notified to review the so-called “building control department” in the municipality. The intention is to force the owners to leave the area, but the authorities use legal and administrative tricks to facilitate demolition without referring to the court. This creates an illusion of a law-abiding state, which should be taken with a grain of salt considering the experience of more than seven decades under the Israeli occupation.
The extremist settlers stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy guard by the Israeli occupation police while the occupation forces shot a Palestinian youth at a military checkpoint near Ramallah.
The Israeli forces opened fire at the Palestinian youth at the Ni’lin military checkpoint, claiming that he had allegedly carried out a car-ramming attack near the illegal Israeli settlement of Mod’een.
The provocative tours of dozens of settlers have almost become a regular act to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque. The settlers, divided into groups, raided the Mosque, and performed Talmudic rituals there. This attempts aim to to impose complete control over the holy Mosque. Al-Aqsa Mosque is constantly exposed to daily violations and incursions by settlers, except for Fridays. Once again, the world must wake up and stand up to Israel not only with words but action.
