Doha, Qatar: Assistant Chairman of the General Authority of Customs for Customs Affairs, HE Talal Abdullah Al-Sheebi received the Non-Resident Liaison Officer to the State of Qatar for the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Rizwan Ahmed at the Authority’s headquarters to discuss avenues for strengthening customs and border cooperation. The meeting addressed ways to enhance joint cooperation and exchange expertise and best practices in customs and border affairs, including border security, customs law enforcement, anti-smuggling efforts, and countering transnational organized crime. Both sides also explored opportunities to advance bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on the latest developments and challenges pertaining to customs and border operations, contributing to safeguarding economic security and boosting the efficiency of customs operations.

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality has launched eight new e-services for the Animal Resources Department, enabling livestock breeders to complete animal production-related services electronically with greater ease and convenience. The Ministry said the new e-services will also support the regulation of the animal production sector and the conservation of animal resources, while simplifying application and electronic follow-up procedures and reducing the need to visit service centres. The new e-services include the issuance of a construction license and issuance of an operating licence for an animal production project; inspection of animal production projects through field visits; amendment of a construction or operating licence for an animal production project; and cancellation of a construction or operating licence for an animal production project. Other newly added e-services include the renewal of a construction licence for an animal production project, renewal of an operating licence for an animal production project, and inquiry or registration of a new animal production project. To access the services, users can visit the Ministry of Municipality’s website, log in through the National Authentication System (Tawtheeq), then navigate to E-Services and select the required service. Users must enter the required information, attach supporting documents where applicable, agree to the terms and conditions, and submit the application electronically. They can also track the status of their applications through their personal accounts

Doha: The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) and Sasol Middle East and India (Sasol) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for collaboration across areas of mutual interest, with a focus on sustainability, decarbonization, applied research, emerging technologies and student-led innovation. The partnership brings together UDST’s expertise in applied academic, technical and vocational education with Sasol’s technological capabilities and industry experience. It aims to create opportunities for both organizations to collaborate on initiatives that support innovation, sustainability and the development of future-ready skills. Under the agreement, UDST and Sasol will collaborate on joint applied research initiatives focused on decarbonization strategies and clean technology integration. Beyond research, the framework also allows both organizations to consider initiatives in talent development, which may include knowledge sharing and student engagements. Furthermore, the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to supporting the broader economic and environmental objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030. Commenting on the partnership, President of UDST Dr. Salem Al Naeimi said: "This MoU marks an important step in expanding the ways in which our students and researchers can engage with industry and contribute to addressing real-world challenges."
