Officials, medical and administrative staff of Sharifa Hospital during inauguration ceremony
Doha: During an official ceremony held under the the patronage of H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, founding member of the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, the Foundation has inaugurated Sharifa Hospital in Marrakesh, Kingdom of Morocco.
The Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation was represented by Chairman of the Board of Directors Sheikh Jabor bin Yousif bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, Managing Director Saeed Mathkar Al Hajri and a number of officials.

The ceremony included government and private activities and a number of official figures of the two brotherly countries, led by Director General of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities Ibrahim Abdullah Al Dhaimi, Marrakesh Safi Region Wali Karim Kassi Lahlou, Marrakesh Safi Region Head Samir Kodar, Chief of Staff of the Minister of Health and Social Protection of Morocco Rahil Hisham.
The opening ceremony included the distribution of commemorative shields and many speeches by representatives of Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, the Ministry of Health and the Marrakesh-Safi Region, in which they appreciated the importance of the efforts made to establish this medical edifice, which is one of the qualitative projects that supports efforts to develop health services in the city of Marrakesh.
Development vision:
On this occasion, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, Sheikh Jabor bin Yousif bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani expressed how proud the Foundation is to witness the culmination of the fruit of a great and joint efforts, expressing the depth of brotherly bonds between Qatar and Morocco with the opening of Sharifa Hospital.
He said that the newly opened hospital is one of the most important health projects that the Foundation has supported in its implementation, in cooperation with the Marrakesh-Safi Region, and paid great attention to it, in accordance with the recommendations of H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, the founding member of Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation.
Sheikh Jabor added that Sharifa Hospital will constitute an important tributary of the health system in the city of Marrakesh, as this medical edifice enjoys vital advantages, the most important of which is the upgrading of the health sector through improved service and diversity of specialization, which contributes to the expansion of the number of beneficiaries of the project from the people of the region.

Sustainable strategy:
For his part, Managing Director of Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation Saeed Mathkar Al Hajri said: “The opening of Sharifa Hospital comes from the Foundation’s deep belief that the development of societies and their ability to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable renaissance that is necessarily linked to an advanced health system.”
He said that the healthiest societies are the most capable of giving and achieving, and based on this vision, the Sharifa Hospital, which we are witnessing its inauguration, is considered a practical translation of this approach, which the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation is honoured to share its results with the brothers in the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco.
Al Hajri said that this medical edifice is the outcome of the unity of visions and the real desire to advance the health sector as a whole, for the welfare of the Kingdom and all those who live on this land.
He added that this hospital in the city of Marrakesh will contribute, in cooperation with other centers operating in the city of Marrakesh, to strengthening the health situation, and facilitating smooth and easy access to medical services for those seeking medical services from the region.

Al Hajri said that the hospital will play a key role in relieving pressure on other health centers on a quantitative level, and thus improving the quality of those services at the level of diagnosis and treatment for thousands of patients annually.
At the conclusion of his speech, he thanked all those who contributed to the completion of this project, led by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in the Kingdom of Morocco, authorities of Marrakesh-Safi Region and Marrakesh Municipal Council.
He also referred to the great role of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities in Qatar in the continuous sponsorship and support for all projects and initiatives of Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation.
Al Hajri noted the permanent support provided by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and the Gulf Office of Legal Consultations. He thanked the Marrakesh-Safi Region and all its employees for the tremendous efforts and endless support to achieve this pioneering medical edifice.
Rahil Hisham
Fruitful partnership:
Meanwhile, Chief of Staff of the Minister of Health and Social Protection of Morocco Rahil Hisham expressed his happiness to attend the opening ceremony of Sharifa Hospital in Marrakesh, which was built in the framework of a partnership between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation and Marrakesh-Safi Region.
He said that this hospital is the first in a series of social projects funded by the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation in the framework of its partnership with the Marrakesh-Safi Region Council.
Hisham added that the completion of this health project at this level and in this particular region comes within the framework of development initiatives that aim to give a strong impetus to Qatari-Moroccan cooperation in vital social fields.
He noted that Sharifa Hospital will contribute to the improvement of health, treatment and hospital services, bringing them closer to the residents of the region, and enhancing the health situation in the Marrakesh-Safi Region.
Samir Kodar
Humanitarian endeavors:
Marrakesh-Safi Region Head Samir Kodar said that the fruitful cooperation between the region and the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation has formed a distinctive mark within the development programs that the Marrakesh-Safi Region is keen to implement.
He said that this cooperation was characterized by the achievement of many projects of a social nature, especially in the field of health, foremost of which is the construction and equipping of Sharifa Hospital in Marrakesh, which we are pleased to open today under the patronage H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani.
Kodar said that this hospital, which includes various medical departments and specialities, has been equipped with the latest devices and equipment to provide a distinguished health service to health care seekers, with a capacity of an estimated at 160,000 cases annually.
“On this occasion, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation for all its noble humanitarian endeavors,” said Kodar.
On behalf of the members of the Marrakesh Region Council, he said, “I extend on behalf of the people of the region with the highest thanks and gratitude to all the officials of the Foundation, led by its founder, H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, Sheikh Jabor bin Yousif bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, as well as Managing Director of the Foundation Saeed Mathkar Al Hajri who closely accompanied the launch and the various stages of completion of these projects, and all members of the Board of Directors.”
