Doha: Al Gharafa will host Al Wakrah today in Week 8 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League.
Al Gharafa are on a high after defeating Al Khor 5-0 in the last round. The Cheetahs thus got back to winning ways after suffering a 4-6 loss to reigning champions Al Sadd in Week 6. Andrea Stramaccioni-coached Al Gharafa have 12 points (four wins and three defeats). Al Wakrah are also on 12 points.
Al Wakrah, who drew goalless with Qatar SC in the last round, have three victories, as many draws and one defeat against their name. The Blue Wave, coached by Spaniard Marquez Lopez, have the potential to floor big teams, just like they beat strong contenders Al Duhail 4-1 in the postponed game from Week 5. Al Gharafa have the likes of Cheick Diabate, Gabriel Perez, Othman Al Yahri, Ahmed Alaaeldin, Almahdi Ali, Mehdi Tahrat and Yousef Hassan.
The Al Wakrah ranks include Mohamed Benyettou, Gelson Dala, Omid Ebrahimi, Hazem Shehata, Ousmane Coulibaly, Khaled Munir and Saoud Al Khater. The play will start at 19:30.
