Qatar Rail signs agreement with Mada

Qatar Rail signed an agreement with  Qatar Assistive Technology Center (Mada) on the second day of QITCOM 2019. ‭ Under the agreement, Qatar Rail will work with Mada to enhance the experience of commuters with disabilities in terms of digital access by conducting reviews of various means by which users can access information. The agreement also calls for evaluation of their experience on trains and at stations. Different workshops are to be held in this regard. 

The agreement was signed by Maha Al Mansori, CEO of Mada and Chief of Strategy & Business Development at Qatar Rail, Ajlan Eid Al Enazi.‬‬‬

Ajlan Eid Al Enazi, Chief of Strategy & Business Development at Qatar Rail, commented:  “Qatar Rail aspires to be a world –class Railway Company by providing safe, reliable railway transportation services.  We strive to adopt world class practices to address the needs of people with disability when it comes to using our transportation services.” He added, “Providing a comprehensive travel experience to all segments of society is a key to the project success. We aim to host more events and tours to raise awareness on this subject as we hope the Metro and Tram will be the preferred mode of transport for commuters with disabilities in Qatar.”

Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) is taking part QITCOM 2019 as one of the official sponsors of its fifth edition.

By participating in this major exhibition, Qatar Rail aims to highlight the aspects related to this year’s theme of “Safe and Smart Cities”, particularly the important role that will be carried by the Doha Metro in supporting Qatar’s efforts to transform its cities into smart cities for a sustainable future.

Visitors to Qatar Rail’s stand at QITCOM are able to discover this new mode of transport system through interactive content, including a tour of the Doha Metro stations and its trains using virtual reality technology.
