Ehsan, the centre for empowerment and elderly care,  yesterday unveiled its new "visual identity" in a bid to strengthen community awareness on elderly needs.
The event, attended by Ehsan CEO Mubarak bin Abdul Aziz Al Khalifa and Qatar Foundation of Social Work CEO Amal Al Manai, also saw the launching of Ehsan Social Club for Elderly people’
The logo in orange depicts a palm tree with Ehsan Empowerment and Care inscribed.
“New identity is inspired by the strategic goal of the centre. We aim to have new programmes for the elderly people, create community awareness to provide basic needs and rights to them. We hope to strengthen the solidarity among the generations,” said Al Khalifa.
To achieve these goals the senior citizens should participate in different programmes provided by the club and spend their maximum time at the club, he stressed. “The centre has successfully merged the senior citizens to the social activities. It is our responsibility to take care of the elderly people,” said Abdul Rehman Abdullah Darwish, an Ehsan official.
Sheikha Al Jufairi, CMC member, said, “We should conduct such programmes for elderly people, which should mainly take place in their own homes. We should provide all these facilities within their family.”
“I feel proud to be a part of this ceremony today, it’s not the first time I am visiting elder people. I come and sing for them, I want to make them feel happy. They call me frequently and I always come and spend my time with them,” said Qatari singer Ali Abdul Sattar.
