DOHA: Aljazeera TV network is celebrating its 16th anniversary tomorrow. An event will be held to mark the occasion and the celebrations will be held under the slogan “With You We Progress”. Aljazeera Arabic Channel was launched in 1996 as the first independent TV station of the Arab world and it soon rose to become world-acclaimed electronic media network. In 2006, Aljazeera underwent massive expansion and was developed into a network that included an English Channel (Aljazeera English or AJE) and other channels such as Aljazeera Documentary, Aljazeera Sports and Aljazeera Balkan. The network also boasts a Research and Training Centre by the name of Aljazeera and a news website each in Arabic and English.
