The Governor-General of Australia, General Peter Cosgrove, has received the credentials of H E Saad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Australia. Ambassador Al Mahmoud conveyed the greetings of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the Governor-General of Australia, wishing him good health and happiness and the government and people of Australia further progress and prosperity. For his part, the Governor-General entrusted the Ambassador to convey his greetings to H H the Amir and his wishes for the Qatari people more prosperity and progress. He wished the Ambassador success in his new assignment as well as in his work to strengthen and boost the friendly relations and cooperation between the State of Qatar and Australia.
