Joseph Almsakna opened the scoring in the 18th minute while Nam Tae-hee doubled the lead for the QSL giants in the 44th minute.

In the second half, national team striker Sebastian Soria struck twice (48 and 86) to seal Lekhwiya’s impressive win.

For Al Arabi, the only goal was scored by Dorde Rakic at the one-hour mark.

Lekhwiya now have 42 points from 20 matches whereas points leaders Al Sadd have a tally of 44.

In another match yesterday, Al Wakra stunned Al Rayyan when Ahmed Ali (26) and Pierre-Alain Frau (48) scored two goals at Al Rayyan Stadium.

Al Rayyan are a notch below Eljaish (40 points) who are in third place.

Al Sadd now take on Al Gharafa in the last match of the 20th round on April 6 at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.

Earlier on Friday, striker Cabore struck a hat-trick as Umm Salal stunned Qatar SC, beating the former national champions 3-1 on their home soil.

Cabore scored either side of the two halves (13, 26 and 83) as Umm Salal dented Qatar SC’s attempt to pick up points at Al Arabi Stadium.  For Qatar SC, the only goal was scored by Abdullah Al Kuwari in the 29th minute.

In another match on Friday, Eljaish’s foreign imports Adrian and Wagner Renan found the net to power last year’s runners-up for a 2-1 win over Al Kharaitiyat at Al Khor Stadium.

For the losers, the only goal was scored by Mohammed Abdul Rab in the 69th minute.

Earlier on Friday, Al Khor played out a 1-1 draw against Al Saiiyah at Al Rayyan Stadium.
