Ministry temporarily closes 12 food establishments in Qatar, including seven restaurants, in January

Doha, Qatar: A total of 12 food establishments across multiple municipalities were ordered to shut down during January 2026 for violating health and safety regulations, according to inspection data released by the Ministry of Municipality.

The closures, ranging from partial to full suspension of operations, were imposed for periods between seven and 30 days, depending on the severity of the violations identified by municipal inspection teams.

The affected outlets were distributed across Al Wakrah, Al Rayyan, Al Shamal, Al Daayen, Al Khor and Al Dhakira, and Al Sheehaniya municipalities. 

Several restaurants, supermarkets, and food outlets were cited for failing to meet approved food safety standards, prompting immediate administrative action

International Company Industries LLC, Al Rayyan Municipality — Full closure for 15 days (Jan 22)

Grand Express, Al Sheehaniya Municipality, Partial closure for 25 days (Jan 15)

Matham Badr Al Sama, Umm Salal Municipality, Full closure for 15 days (Jan 15)

Mehman Restaurant, Al Rayyan Municipality, Full closure for 14 days (Jan 14)

Afghan Restaurants, Al Sheehaniya Municipality, Full closure for 14 days (Jan 14)

Sababa London Restaurant, Al Daayen Municipality, Full closure (Jan 8)

The ministry continues to carry out routine inspection campaigns to ensure compliance with health requirements, protect consumers, and uphold food quality standards.
