DOHA: The Social Rehabilitation Center (Al Aween) and the Qatar Foundation for Child and Women Protection (Aman) are likely to be merged as one institution next year, an Arabic daily has reported.
However, the integration process would require a long time, according to Dr Yousef Al Mulla, CEO, Al Aween.
Discussions are being held on the possibility of merging both, with a focus on agreements signed by them, their programmes and the staff and their responsibilities. If the process succeeds, they may merge by April next year.
Al Aween, which treats addiction to alcohol, drug and Internet use, was founded in 2006. Aman deals with children and women suffering from abuses, negligence and family and marital disputes.
