A security check on the visitors who arrived to watch the opening match of the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup Championship.
Doha: The Khalifa International Stadium and Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium witnessed a high-level security organisation under the supervision of the Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy during the opening of the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup Championship.
All the security units of the Security Committee have contributed to ensuring the success of the tournament as a real experience for the 2022 World Cup hosted by the State of Qatar.
The concerned units worked in facilitating the entry and exit of the crowd, reducing the crowding at the entrance and exit gates of the masses, where more than 38,000 spectators attended at Khalifa International Stadium to watch the inaugural tournament.
The security men opened the entrance gates of the public three hours before the start of the tournament. E-gates were set for individuals and devices to search bags and detect crackers and contraband at all entrances to the stadium, and prevent the entry of fireworks of all kinds. Female police officers were also deployed in order to secure and ensure the entry of women easily and easily.
Major Nawaf Mohammad Al Otaibi, Commander of the Khalifa International Stadium, said that all units participated in the security coverage of the Arabian Gulf Cup Championship. Prior to the launch of the tournament, an integrated security plan was developed that took into account all aspects of safety, security for the public and for the sports facility.
Risk assessment, crowd route identification and vehicle route identification have also been undertaken to avoid any traffic bottlenecks that can occur as a result of the large numbers of the public expected at such major sporting events. The plan took into account the mass impulse that could occur and the appropriate way to maintain the flow.
All of the relevant parties including the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Qatar Rail and Championship Organizing Committee have come together to establish a mechanism to move the masses from different regions of the country as quickly as possible, smoothly and easily. The security units safeguarded the public to reach the nearest point from Khalifa International Stadium without effort or hardship and avoid any traffic jams.
The security preparations for the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup were complete inside the stadium and in the surrounding areas, said Captain Burhan Saleh al-Turki, Head of the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium facility at Al Duhail Sports Club. All security units have been deployed in the area and were supported by all major requirements and logistical support, which positively reflected their performance in securing this major Gulf sporting event.
