Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced that it will close a small section of Al Sakhama Road and put in place a diversion on Al Wukair Road. Ashghal has advised that the closure and diversion will be implemented in two phases, in coordination with the Traffic Police.
The closure of this small section of Al Sakhama Road will start on Saturday and will be closed for a period of 12 months. The closure is required to implement a new parallel diversion road on Al Wukair Road, as shown on the attached map.
The diversion on Al Wukair Road will commence on July 28 and will also last for a period of twelve months. This diversion is required to enable the construction of two bridges and other vehicular and cycle underpasses on Ashghal’s Al Wakrah Bypass project.
On July 2 residents in Ezdan villages who usually use Al Sakhama Road to access Al Wukair Road will need to use the local road route, as shown on the map. Road users travellingin both directions on Al Wukair Road will be minimally affected by the change, diverting to a parallel road for a length of 1.3km.
