DOHA: Khetco became the first team to pave their way to the West End Park Challenge Cup quarter-final stage with a 19-run victory over Khan XI.
Having won the toss, Khetco chose to bat and achieved a respectable total of 140 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Nazim (32), Zohaid (31) & Naveed (26) were the main contributors.
Israr and Mujtaba claimed two and one wicket respectively for for Khan XI.
Chasing the target, Khan XI fell short of the required runs, managing just 121 after losing nine of their wickets in 20 overs. Yousaf (35), Bilal (20) and Mujtabah (21) were the main scorers.
Naseeb and A Samad were the main performers for the winners with three wickets each. The latter was named Man-of-the-Match.
Meanwhile, Yasco Riders and Deccan Warriors competed in the second match of the evening.
Warriors won the toss and elected to field bowling the Riders out for only 58 runs in 17.4 overs.
Hayat (3 wickets) & A R Mohd (2) were in good form.
Shani (10 runs) & Abid (7 runs) were the pick of the batting side.
Deccan Warriors charged to a four-wicket victory as they reached the target in only 8 overs. The West End Park Man-of-the -Match, Asif, scored 39 runs.
