Doha: Qatar Chamber Second Board Member Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba said yesterday that Qatar and Bangladesh trade relations had greatly developed within the past few years, noting that Qatari businessmen and investors are interested to explore the investment opportunities available in Bangladesh.
This came during a meeting with H E Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Mohammed Shahriar Alam and his accompanying delegation in the presence of Bangladesh ambassador to Qatar Ashud Ahmed.
The meeting touched on reviewing both countries’ economic and commercial ties.
On his part, Mohammed Shahriar Alam invited Qatari investors to visit Bangladesh to learn about opportunities of investment available in all sectors.
He said that Bangladesh is transforming very fast and there are a multitude of investment opportunities in many promising sectors such as garments and textiles, noting that his country exports to Europe, Asia and Africa.
He also called upon Qatari investors to identify investment opportunities available in Bangladesh economic zones which planned to set up 100public and private economic zones.
