Community College of Qatar celebrates graduation of 860 students

Doha, Qatar: Under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Community College of Qatar celebrated the graduation of 860 diploma and bachelor’s degree students from its fourteenth cohort, the Class of 2025.

Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Khater, attended as Guest of Honour and honoured 59 outstanding graduates from the divisions of Management Science, Science and Technology, and Liberal Arts. Dr. Khalid Al-Horr, President of the College, then conferred the degrees in an atmosphere of pride and celebration of academic accomplishment.

A distinguished gathering of ministers, ambassadors, senior officials, faculty, staff, parents, and guests of the College attended the ceremony.

In an inspiring speech, Minister of Education and Higher Education, affirmed that graduating a generation of creative, critical, and responsible individuals is the cornerstone for achieving Qatar National Vision 2030, as it balances human, economic, social, and environmental development. She emphasized that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education believes universities are not places for rote learning but rather factories of ideas and centers of innovation and change. 

She reiterated the Ministry’s continuous support for the College and its students and its ongoing partnership in Community’s journey of success, recognizing its leading role in empowering national talent and preparing them to be active partners in the nation’s progress.

Al Khater also highlighted the College’s achievement of securing full national academic accreditation as the first national higher education institution to earn this distinction. She noted that this was not merely an official recognition of academic excellence but the culmination of fifteen years of dedicated work and commitment to applied education. 

On this occasion, Dr. Khalid Al-Horr congratulated the graduates in his speech, describing their success as stories of determination, ambition, and hope. He highlighted the ceremony’s slogan, “Empowerment Creates Impact,” which he said reflects one of the College’s core values. “At Community, we believe empowerment marks the true beginning of any lasting impact.”

Dr. Al-Horr emphasized that since its founding in 2010, the College has sought to serve as a flexible and reliable bridge between higher education and the labor market.

“Today, after fifteen years of service, we are proud that Community College has become Qatar’s largest national college, enrolling more than 8,000 students across 18 academic programs. We play an active role in advancing Qatar National Vision 2030 and have established ourselves as a model for flexible and sustainable higher education in the country.”
