MANILA: The Supreme Court has junked the appeal of the camp of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo regarding the electoral sabotage case now being heard at the Pasay City Regional Trial Court.

A member of the High court confirmed yesterday the magistrates have dismissed the motion for reconsideration filed by the lawyers of Arroyo, asking the Supreme Court to thumb down the poll fraud case against her.

The Supreme Court has voted unanimously to dismiss the MR “for being moot”.

But the majority of the Supreme Court magistrates upheld the legality of the creation of the Department of Justice and the Commission on Elections investigative panel.

The DOJ-Comelec panel filed the electoral sabotage raps before the Pasay City RTC branch 112 against Arroyo, former poll chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr, and former Maguindanao election supervisor Lintang Bedol.
