DOHA: Barwa Village in Al Wakra is poised to emerge as a major shopping hub once the new international airport located close to it becomes operational, says Barwa Real Estate Company.

The Village, which is a commercial-cum-residential complex, is 100 percent occupied. The demand for shops and homes in the Village is so much that the company said it has a waiting list.

“More and more consumers are going to be attracted to the Village, especially when the new international airport is opened,” the company said.

Barwa’s statement was a rejoinder to a report carried by this newspaper entitled ‘Few customers at Barwa Village shops’ yesterday.

“This is for clarification on what has been said in the report on Barwa Village shops,” the rejoinder signed by Hamad Rashid Al Kuwari, Director, Group Communication, said.
