Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent a cable of condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud following the death of Princess Mishael bint Abdulmohsen bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani also sent a cable of condolences to King Salman.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable to King Salman.
Doha: Qatar condemned attacks, targeting civilians and security personnel in Turkey.
In a statement yesterday, the Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks which targeted Turkey’s stability and security and expressed Qatar’s support to the country in its measures to protect its borders and maintain its security and stability. The ministry said Qatar’s support is out of its rejection of violence and terrorism in all its forms regardless of motives. It expressed Qatar’s condolences to victims’ families, the government and people, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
DOHA: An Arab passenger arriving at Hamad International Airport on a direct flight from his country, has been prevented from carrying tramadol banned in Qatar, Al Sharq reports.
Customs officials noticed something suspicious in his luggage during scanning. Inspection revealed a separate bag containing small bags covered with carbon papers. When they opened the packages, they found 2,000 strips of the narcotic-like pain reliever. It was not clear if he was arrested.
