Doha: It is the responsibility of store owners to display the daily price bulletin of fruits, vegetables, and fish, stated the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on its social media.
It stated that the "merchant's responsibilities to the consumer include clearly and conspicuously displaying the daily vegetable and fruit price bulletin in the store."
To regulate the prices of commodities, the ministry publishes a daily price bulletin for vegetables, fruits, fish and other seafood. Traders are required to abide by this ceiling but can reduce the prices from the maximum limit to attract customers.
The ministry officials conduct frequent routine inspections at markets to investigate complaints about any price hike.
