Doha: Mohammad Idrees Anwar, one of the leading Pakistan philanthropists, donated a cheque for QR200,000 to Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) in a simple ceremony at Ezdan Mall. Senior officials of RAF and Qatar Foundation were present.
Anwar donated the amount as part of pursuing social responsibility drive. The donation is allocated for Pakistan Welfare Forum’s (PWF) project ‘Education for All’ (EFA) being carried out in partnership with RAF.
‘Education for All’ is inspired from ‘Educate Above All’ programme which is the vision of H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser to educate millions of children across the world.
The event coincided with Ezdan Mall’s ‘Exploring and Experiencing Reading campaign’ which aimed at creating awareness among students about developing reading habits. RAF is one of the leading foundations in Qatar concerned with humanitarian work for relief and social development without having any discrimination based on gender, nationality or culture.
RAF supports PWF’s EFA programme through donations as the initiative is playing a pivotal role in eradicating illiteracy among young expatriate generation which is unable to afford education.
