Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality, represented by its Fisheries Department, has announced the opening of applications for ice and fuel support for fishing vessels and boats for the 2026-2027 season, starting Sunday, May 3, 2026.
The Ministry, in a post on the X, said that applications will be received electronically through its official website or via the “Oun” mobile application, as part of efforts to streamline services and support the local fishing sector.
The Fisheries Department clarified that a set of eligibility criteria must be met to qualify for the support. Fishing vessels are required to complete no fewer than 24 sea trips annually, while fishing boats must undertake at least 48 trips per year.
Applicants must also have a clean record with no violations during the previous year and demonstrate full compliance with regulations governing marine living resources. In addition, fishermen are required to provide proof of fish production and sales through at least 12 sales invoices or annual landing receipts issued at fishing ports.
