Geneva: The State of Qatar strongly renewed its condemnation of the Israeli occupation forces’ use of lethal and excessive force against peaceful Palestinian demonstrators intentionally, stressing that no one has escaped from the Israeli killing machine whether persons with disabilities, children, paramedics, or journalists.
This came in Qatar’s speech before the 43rd session of the Human Rights Council, during the interactive dialogue with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, regarding the commissioner’s report on ensuring accountability and justice in all violations of international law in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Al Quds, which was delivered by Second Secretary of the Permanent Delegation of Qatar to the United Nations Office in Geneva Abdulla Khalifa Al Sowaidi.
The State of Qatar emphasised that what encourages the Israeli military and political leaders to continue committing more violations and crimes is the lack of independent and impartial investigations in accordance with international standards, the absence of accountability. and the prevalence of impunity.
Also, Qatar called on the international community to take all necessary measures to end the Israeli occupation of the occupied Arab lands, protect the Palestinian people and ensure the recovery of all their legitimate rights, stop violations and crimes committed by the Israeli forces, hold all those responsible accountable and bring them to international criminal justice.
It called for ending the military hostilities and the collective punishment policy imposed on the Gaza Strip and ensuring reaching a two-state solution that guarantees the establishment of an independent and viable State of Palestine based on the 1967 borders and its capital, Al Quds Al Sharif. Abdulla Al Sowaidi said that Qatar has viewed with great interest the report of the High Commissioner, who clearly indicated that the protests of the great return march by the Palestinian people to demand their legitimate rights.
