DOHA: Real estate transactions are picking up as evidenced from last week’s total value of deals concluded. The value was a staggering QR1.24bn ($340m) in the week from October 18 to 22, figures released by the Ministry of Justice show.
Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported, citing real estate registry department of justice ministry yesterday, that the deals included those for open plots of land, houses and multipurpose buildings located in different municipalities, including Doha, Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Thakhira, Al Rayyan, Al Dayeen, Al Wakrah and Al Shamal.
Real estate expert Khalifa Al Muslemani told this newspaper that two major deals for mega projects were part of the transactions that were concluded for the week under review and that explains why the total value was so high. “However, this value should not be taken as a trend. It reflects growth but it is a one-off thing and should be treated as exceptional,” said the expert.
