Qatar becomes founding member of AIIB

Beijing:  Qatar’s Ambassador to China Sultan bin Salmeen Al Mansouri participated in the signing  ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for establishing the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). He signed the MoU which makes Qatar as a founding member of the bank.
Following the signing ceremony, Al Mansouri and representatives of AIIB’s founding members met Chinese President Xi Jinping.
A ministerial meeting for AIIB’s founding members was held after the signing. It approved the appointment of Jin Liqun, Head of Working Group for Establishment of AIIB, as secretary-general of interim multilateral secretariat.
