Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has launched the initial phase of the Government Resource Planning and Management System project.

This comes in alignment with the ministry’s commitment to update and develop the procedures of the government sector. The announcement followed the inaugural meeting of the project’s committee at the ministry.

A project management committee for the Government Resource Planning and Management System was established by a decision of the Cabinet to oversee the project, with representatives from MCIT, the Ministry of Finance, and the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau as members.

In this context, Chairman of the Government Resource Planning and Management System Project Steering Committee, Hassan Jasim Al Sayed, stated, “Through this project, we aim to find innovative and comprehensive technological solutions that will achieve the planning and management of human and financial resources in all government entities while ensuring the optimal use of modern technologies.”

The first phase of the project aims to study and analyse the current situation regarding procedures and systems used in human resources and financial resource management in the government sector. It will also design an integrated system for government resource management based on best practices in this field, including budget management, payments and revenues, procurement and supply chains, and asset management to enable government institutions and enhance overall efficiency.

The Government Resource Planning and Management System project is considered one of the pillars of the ministry’s strategy, as it seeks to enhance the government’s effectiveness in managing its resources, maximise the use of modern technology to accelerate in operations, and in return, contribute to improving its financial and human planning and enhancing the reliability of its data to support decision-making processes.
