DOHA: Al Rayyan are hoping to bounce back strongly in the QNB Stars League (QSL), eyeing a victory over Al Shahania in their Round 7 clash at Al Sadd Stadium today.

The coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena’s (pictured) players are looking to get back to winning ways after suffering a 5-0 defeat against leaders Al Sadd in Qatar Clasico last week.

“For us, the importance of this game is that it comes after we lost the Qatar Clasico to Al Sadd,” Arruabarrena said ahead of the match.

“We are seeking a strong comeback by getting a positive result. We need to win,” Al Rayyan coach said before warning his team of Al Shahania’s skills.

“Al Shahania are a strong side and we have to be wary of them. They have got some good results,” he said.

Arruabarrena added his team was looking forward in the league, hoping to put up a positive display.

“We have put behind the loss to Al Sadd. They are the best team around at the moment, but the season is still long. We are working now to prove ourselves,” he said.

“It is a fact that Al Sadd and Al Duhail are the best sides so far in the league. We are keen that our players are not at a disadvantage psychologically.

“We worked on the psychological aspects of our players. Al Rayyan are a big team and we will not give up just because of one defeat. We are now focusing on the Al Shahania match,” he said.

Meanwhile, Al Shahania coach Jose Murcia said his team will enter the match with an aim to improve their standings. “We are trying to improve our position in the table and compensate for the recent loss that we suffered at the hands of Al Arabi,” he said. “We know that Al Rayyan will try to make a strong comeback into the tournament after they got beaten by Al Sadd in the Qatar Clasico. But we will play for a positive result,” he said.

“We have a strong squad and we will play for victory. Ours is more of a team work and that is our strength.”
